Are you a Registered Nurse with a passion for paediatric care? We are seeking caring, reliable nurses to support a vibrant 5-year-old girl living with her family in the Hutt Valley, Wellington. This is a unique opportunity to provide one-on-one care in a home environment, helping a child and his whanau thrive.
About the Role:
- Location: Hutt Valley, Wellington
- Shifts: Mornings or Nights (flexible with hours and days)
- Employment: Casual (though there are regular, on-going shifts)
- Start: Immediate
About the Child: You’ll be caring for a happy, playful girl with Nemaline Rod Myopathy, a rare neuromuscular condition. She is ventilator-dependent via tracheostomy and requires overnight monitoring, suctioning, respiratory physiotherapy, and gastrostomy care. Her family is loving and supportive, and you’ll be part of a wider team including paediatric specialists and allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of ventilator and oxygen saturation
- Tracheostomy and airway management (suctioning, tie changes, stoma care)
- Administering medications and gastrostomy feeds
- Providing respiratory physiotherapy and using cough assist equipment
- Supporting the child’s comfort, safety, and developmental needs
- Accurate documentation and communication with the family and clinical team

About You:
- NZ Registered Nurse with current APC
- Paediatric or complex care experience is ideal, but not essential
